HOW TO START DREADLOCKS
There are different ways to start locs each of which depends on your preference and lifestyle to suit your needs. They include;

1⃣ COILS
Coils are made with the aid of a fine tooth comb(comb coils) or merely by spiralling your hair over your index finger(finger coils) to form hollow coils.
What to expect;
👉The coils tends to swell over time as it absorbs water.
Pros
👉Can be started on really short hair
👉Easy to do
👉Takes the shape of a loc.
Cons
👉Requires gel/wax for more hold
👉Unravels easily
👉Buds easily along the length of the locs
2⃣ BRAIDS
Formed by plaiting three strands of hair together.
Pros
👉No gel/wax is required
👉No fear of unravelling
Cons
👉The braid patterns rarely goes away but can be hidden by frizz but can still be seen on closer look.
👉It gives a more compact hold so it makes your hair less full than you would expect
👉Gives a scantier or thinner look because of its compact nature
👉Owing to the above,swelling is also null or minimum.
3⃣ TWISTS
It is formed by twisting two strands (or three strands) of hair over each other.
What to expect;
👉Swells over time
👉Shrinks in length

What to expect;
